Why is baby always super active at night?! 🕺
⁣
In utero (and out!), babies like movement and sound - like the movement of you walking around during the day and the sound of your voice while you’re awake! It’s like a gentle rocking and soothing puts them right to sleep! ⁣
⁣
But once YOU go to sleep, no more movement and noise - they wake right up and start moving all around!⁣
⁣
This is SUPER common!! It happened to me all the time when I laid down to sleep!

Does this happen to you and your babe? 😍

🤣🤣🤣

Even if you don’t have a tear, you’re likely going to be pretty sore down there for a little while!

✅ Ice packs and dermoplast help!

What else helped you down there?

Sushi myth!! 🍣 😬⁣
⁣
Who LOVES sushi? 🙋🏼‍♀️⁣
⁣
I actually CRAVED THE HECK out of sushi during my pregnancies (I ate it at least once a week 😂🙌🏻)⁣
⁣
But did you know, sushi isn’t exactly one of those taboo foods you can’t eat during pregnancy!⁣
⁣
As long as you are eating certain cooked and/or veggie sushi from a reputable place, you’re fine!⁣
⁣
Sushi has been labeled UNSAFE during pregnancy because of the risk of food borne illness-and this carries a greater risk when you are consuming foods that are not cooked or undercooked. ⁣
⁣
Food poisoning can be pretty dangerous during pregnancy, coming with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea which can lead to dehydration (and we all know that dehydration is not good during pregnancy!)⁣
⁣
Another risk is the risk of mercury exposure, and some fish have higher mercury levels than others- particularly: swordfish, king mackerel, marin, orange roughy, and tilefish.⁣
⁣
So, it’s recommended that you avoid sushi with these types of fish as well!⁣
⁣
But California roll? GIMME!!! 🥰😍⁣
⁣
Did you eat sushi during your pregnancy??⁣

It’s no surprise that pregnancy causes LOTS of changes in your body, with weight gain being the most noticeable. ⁣
⁣
And along with weight gain can come stretch marks, acne, and other pleasant and not so pleasant physical, emotional, hormonal, and psychological changes.⁣
⁣
For some women, pregnancy can cause body image issues they didn’t have before or exacerbate existing problems.⁣
⁣
Here are some ways to accept and embrace the changes your body experiences during pregnancy:⁣
⁣
❤️ Remind yourself that it’s temporary. You will not be pregnant forever, and while you might not return to your exact pre-pregnancy size, you will part with a lot of the discomforts and unpleasantries when you are no longer pregnant
⁣
❤️ Exercise. Even 15 minutes a day of light exercise can do wonders for your mental health
⁣
❤️ Try not to compare yourself to others. I know this can be REALLY hard, but remember that we are all unique and will carry our pregnancies differently
⁣
❤️ Remember that your genes play a role. Sure, there are things you can do to make your pregnancy healthier, but at the end of the day, there are some things that ⁣are out of your control
⁣
❤️ Ditch the scale. If you have scale anxiety, tuck that thing away in your closet for the next 9+ months⁣. And feel free to step on the scale backwards during your prenatal appointments if you don’t want to see the number
⁣
❤️ Focus on the positive things your body is doing during pregnancy. Remind yourself that your body is changing to support your baby’s growth and development⁣

❤️ Surround yourself with support. And don’t be afraid to seek mental health support if you feel that you need it⁣

Any other tips to add to this list?? 👇

It's real! Preggo brain is TOTALLY a thing!!

Feeling more forgetful, foggy, or just like you're losing your mind? Yep, you're not alone - many pregnant women experience this (and unfortunately it typically extends into motherhood....known as "mom brain" 🤪)

It's hard to determine exactly what causes this but it's likely due to a combination of:

✅ Getting less sleep/sleep deprivation in general
✅ Stress and anxiety
✅ Hormonal changes

And, even a 2016 study determined there are solid physiological changes that occur in the structure of all women's brains during pregnancy!
